Have the switch tested for the seat and also verify the seat has power to the switch before you do any parts replacing. Power seats have more than one electric motor and it very unlikely that all would stop working. Go under the seat and locate the heavy connector that comes out of the rug and connects to the seat, using a 12 volt test light probe the connector and see that at least one of the heavy wires there is 'hot', you may need the key on.

Nissan Maxima Replacement Driver Seat Motor

Are you trying to find used Nissan seat motors? 1997-1999 Nissan Maxima LH Driver Front Seat Motor Tilt Front and Back oem. Stock Number: 65.

If you find no power check owners manual for the location of the power seat fuses, they are likely under the hood. Good luck and hope this helped. Please rate my help for Fixya, it helps to improve my standing on the site. Thanks Jan 17, 2012 . First two things I would look at is either the switch assembly that moves the seat or one of the seat motors. These are common issues no just on this vehicle, but, several others as well.

If it is one of the seat motors, call Nissan to see if the motor can be purchased separately (most cases it cannot, you'll have to purchase the entire seat track which is very costly). If the motor cannot be purchased separately, scan salvage yards or the other option is to drive the vehicle with a driver seat that doesn't adjust. The other issue which is very rare is quite possibly a fuse.

But, I haven't seen one with a blown fuse yet. It is usually what mentioned above. Jan 04, 2012 .

I have a 2004 Maxima SL (about 63,000 miles), with basically all options except the moonroof. Last week I found that when I tried to move the driver's power seat forward, it moved on the right side, but not on the left.

I couldn't see anything mechanical obstructing it. I brought it into the Nissan dealer, and they said they had seen problem with some cable or something not feeding power to one of the motors on both Maximas and Pathfinders. They checked my vehicle, and this is what they found. Unfortunately, they explained to me that they had no way to replace just that cable, and so I had to buy a complete 'seat slide/motor kit' (PN 87451-5Z50A). This was going to cost over $420!!

And with the labor, tax, etc., the total bill would come to well over $600!! This seat problem was discovered the day I returned home after having another repair with very disproportionate cost. The turn signals and headlights weren't working intermittently. The repair required a $221 'Controller Unit' (PN 284B7-7Y02A). I authorized this, and after installation, they said they also needed to replace the 'Switch Assembly' (PN 25540-AM620), for an additional $99.96. So it cost me $426 for a couple of electronic glitches, which was infuriating enough.

I was outraged, as you might imagine, and asked him to do nothing yet about the power seat problem. I called Nissan Customer Service, and explained the situation. I explained all of this, indicating that I had been happily using Nissan vehicles continuously since 1990 (had a 300ZX Twin Turbo for quite a while!), and was generally pretty happy with their reliability, with repairs being at a reasonable cost when necessary. But the cost to fix a couple of minor (to me) electrical functions, at over $1000 was simply outrageous.

Pakistani Song Hawa Hawa E Hawa Mp3 Free Download. They basically refused to do anything about it, and didn't seem to care when I indicated that this would likely be my last Nissan vehicle, if this is the type of reliability and repair cost I can expect from Nissan. Obviously, I needed to vent somewhat, but I'm also looking for any practical suggestions about how I might get a cost-effective fix for the power seat problem. Any help appreciated.

Hello The only thing I can suggest is trying to replaced the motor your self. It is actually easy if you follow the instruction step by step.

Here is the bulletin: Thanks for the reply and suggestion. The problem is the cost of the seat slide itself - $427.86!!

The labor/tax the dealership would charge is reasonable, it's the part itself that's outrageous. Right around the same time I posted here, I had found that TSB (thanks for the link, though).

What really frosts me is the cost of this part. If you look at the TSB, it shows the diagram and part numbers. I had previously wrongly assumed that they wanted to replace the entire (left/front/whatever) mechanism for the power seat. This shows that the part number is just for the single left side.

How in the world can they justify charging $427.86 for a part like this??? A little motor and track!!

This isn't a Mercedes Benz! As I said in my original post, I've been pretty satisfied with the cost-effectiveness of prior Nissan repairs, which fortunately have been few, after 13 years of owning a 1990 300-ZX Twin Turbo, and now almost 4 years of the Maxima SL. If this is the kind of repair cost I can anticipate from Nissan in the future, to repair relatively minor problems (see also the costs for the headlight/turn signal issue - 2 parts for a total of around $320!!), then I doubt that I'll be considering Nissan on my next purchase (wife's car will need replacement within the next year). I discussed all of this with the Nissan Regional Rep, but I guess they don't care about losing my business. Is there no other more reasonably priced source for this seat slide??? Any other way of getting Nissan to address this??
