I am so frustrated. I spent an hour trying to figure out how to program zones on my alarm system [I can send a copy of the manual I'm using if anybody wants it]. The keys I pushed and the numbers that displayed did not make any sense. This is an ADT system and I can access the programming mode, but the manual is very vague when it comes to programming the system. I have no idea what I did but at one point the alarm would go off every time I opened the door (armed or unarmed!!!).

To stop that I cleared all zone attributes so I guess I also need to know how to re-configure those What I'm trying to do I think is quite simple, but I need a little more specific instructions to be able to follow through. My alarm is a DSC pc1555 and my keypad is a pc5508. My house has 4 zones. 1=front door 2=back door 3=motion 4=windows From the manual: 'Program a two-digit code describing the zone definition in sections [001]-[004]. Select a definition in the list below.

00=Null Zone 01=Delay 1 Zone 02=Delay 2 Zone 03=Instant Zone 04=Interior Zone 05=Interior Stay/Away Zone 06=Delay Stay/Away Zone etc.' In my frustration I screwed up the zone attributes so no alarm goes off at all now. Also from the manual: 'In Addition, each zone has eight different attributes which may be programmed in sections [101] to [108] (the list is bulleted, not numbered, but I assume this is 1-8 as they light up on the led keypad) *audible/silent *pulsed/steady *activated chime *bypass enable *force arm enable *swinger shutdown enable *transmission delay enable *wireless zone In English, I want my stay function to bypass zone 3, and my away to set all zones armed. I would like my front door only to have an entry/exit delay and the rest to be immediate alarms. I've read the posts and you guys really seem to know what you're talking about. I'm hoping you can help me. I just need somebody to give me an example of how to navigate the sequence of numbers/commands to help me configure this system. Thanks in Advance!

First of all, except for activating wireless zones, you don't have to mess with the zone attributes. For basic zone programming, all you do is go to program; enter section 001; then enter the zone type codes for the first 8 zones, in order. Hai Apna Dil Awara Song Download on this page. In your case, that would be(assuming that front and back doors are intended to be entry/exit delay zones): 01 01 05 03 00 00 00 00 (Yes, there is a way to jump to a specific zone and enter just that one, but for average DIY it's easier and safer to simply enter all 8 zone slots sequentially) That's all there is to it.

Don't over-read DSC instructions. They sometimes use odd turns of phrase to describe simple things. Do read over the manual section titled 'How to Program'; and it will be a little more clear. Wasatch Softrip Version 7.0 Download. I hope when you say you 'cleared zone atttibutes' that you didn't default the whole program. If so, resetting the zones is only one of many things you have to reconfigure, including the monitoring phone numbers and account numbers (which has to be done by ADT).). Thanks for the help.

I did it exactly like you said and things seem to be working correctly now. Quick response too! Posted By: MrRonFL (P.S. I hope when you say you 'cleared zone atttibutes' that you didn't default the whole program. If so, resetting the zones is only one of many things you have to reconfigure, including the monitoring phone numbers and account numbers (which has to be done by ADT).)If I'm not using ADT is this still a problem? I have no idea what I did so I cant imagine fixing it.

I just know I was punching numbers in 'Zone Attributes Sections [101]-[108]: [1]-[9]'. In my confusion I also tried to setup zones assuming the setup numbers were a sequence.so I used 001 for zone 1 and 002 for zone 2 etc. I havent seen 002 used anywhere else, but there's just no telling what I may have messed up. Is there any way for me to recover? Do I need to even bother, or do I have all I need to be functional?
