TomTom Map Share TomTom Map Share is a unique technology that enables you to update and personalise your navigation maps instantly. In between map releases, you can make corrections to your map - such as road closures, or points of interest - using Map Share technology.

It also lets you share and benefit from other users’ changes - daily, automatically and easily via TomTom HOME. TomTom Map Share technology means TomTom drivers can always have the most up-to-date maps at their fingertips. TomTom Map Share requirements. To take full advantage of Map Share, and to start making, sharing and receiving simple map corrections, you need: • A map that is less than 12 months old; • TomTom HOME software for your computer (available as a free download) • Application version 7.xxx (or higher) installed on your navigation device. If you don't know the installed application version, read the FAQ: • Map version 675.1409 (or higher) installed on your navigation device.

For these devices, changes can be made to your own map on the device itself but cannot yet be shared with the community. TomTom Map Share community The first time you enter the map corrections menu on your TomTom device, you will be asked to join the TomTom Map Share community. Membership is free of charge, as its sole purpose is to allow every TomTom user to instantly receive map corrections made by others.

If you decide to join the TomTom Map Share community and to share your corrections with others (recommended), then your corrections will be uploaded to us every time you connect your device to TomTom HOME. At the same time, corrections made and reported by other TomTom users are sent to your device after they have been verified. You have a number of options available on your TomTom device to decide what sort of map corrections you would like to receive.
