So I'm completely new to the Mac world. And so far, I like it. BUT I'm having issues trying to see the shared folder on my old Toshiba (running vista) When I go to 'Finder>Go>Network' I can't see any devices on my network.

And I have 4 devices running on this network. I can see them all on my vista computer. Also, when I go to enable file sharing on my Mac, on several tutorials, under the services column they show 'Windows file sharing' mine only says 'file sharing' then I have to go under that to enable windows file sharing.

I'm not sure if this difference is the issue or not. The vista machine can see all files on my Mac, But I'm really more interested in seeing and being able to access and modify files on the vista machine via my Mac. I'm wanting to do this to have my windows machine as network storage basically. So I can download straight to it, then move the files to my Mac as I please.

Can anyone link me to a GOOD tutorial or post step by step instructions? I've looked on google and none of the tutorials really line up perfect to what I'm trying to do. I apologize if I'm being vague. I would post what I've already done, but I'm so frustrated and turned around right now, that I can't really explain. Thanks in advance. 15' MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.4) Posted on Aug 29, 2010 9:47 PM. If you check all my posts you will see that I've been beating my head against a brick wall for the past year on this subject.

I've tried all recommendations for both Windows and Mac whether I thought they were crazy or not and still no fix. Telecharger Brida Paulo Coelho Pdf Gratuit Mac on this page. ( there is no fix! ) I've waited for every new update from OS 10 and still the same. I've just come to terms with this and hopefully I'll be able to replace all my windoze machines to Mac and forget about what I would like to see from windoze. Everything works OK when using Go/Connect to Server and will continue to do so even if I don't like it. Sep 2, 2010 8:34 AM. SOHCNightmare wrote: So I'm completely new to the Mac world.

This is not normal. I can see various Windows devices and printers on my system when I go to the Network in the Finder.

Which device on your network is the Master Browser? Usually it's a good idea for the Mac to be the Master Browser. Also, when I go to enable file sharing on my Mac, on several tutorials, under the services column they show 'Windows file sharing' mine only says 'file sharing' then I have to go under that to enable windows file sharing. You should have SMB sharing turned on. The vista machine can see all files on my Mac, But I'm really more interested in seeing and being able to access and modify files on the vista machine via my Mac.

That should be simple enough. The WinBox should show up in the Finder, or should be available from the 'Connect to Server' dialog box, usually in the format 'smb://winboxname' or 'smb://winboxip' depending on whether you were connecting by name or IP address. Sep 2, 2010 7:21 PM. I'm also experiencing this issue, the only difference mine is intermittently seeing my networked PC machines. Odia Serial Song.

The PC boxes have access to my drive, can read, create, and move files. But the Mac will not accept that there is anything else on the network other than my other macs. This is also showing up in itunes as well, where the PC can see my library but I can't see theirs.

This is becoming very frustraiting and annoying as it will work for a day then a week with out, or only when I need to access the file quickly. I've tried to connecting directly via ip address, even tried to connect to them as a server but I just get the little 'folder not found' error and will not do anything else. I have not changed any of my settings, but it only seems to be happening on my MBP, my housemate has not seen an issue with his MacBook 08 running on same OS.

Is there any other way to diagnose this? I run through a airport extreme and it is showing up as all ok, I haven't changed any other settings other than a restart. Would love to know any info.
